About Healing Leaders
Organizations, like people, sustain wounds. Leaders of organizations are usually in the best position to prevent and heal these systemic wounds, thereby increasing collaboration, morale, teamwork and productivity. A healing leader is one who creates an environment of open communication, respect for each person’s role and contributions, a common, compelling vision for the organization and a collaborative ethic. When leaders and employees collaborate in that healing effort the organization succeeds in its goals as well as in becoming a healthy place to work.
At Healing Leaders we provide workshops, consulting and personal coaching to those leaders eager to deepen their professional skills. Our clients often write to us saying that they continue to use the skills they learned in their first workshops with us and that they want the next level. We’ve created courses based on those interests, so the training is always updated, refined and tailored to the needs of those attending. Consulting and coaching, of course, are created as the needs of the client are revealed.
Healing Leaders currently offers the following courses:
The Collaborative Leader – teaches leaders strategies and techniques to create an environment of collaboration, openness and teamwork so vital to making an organization effective. It incorporates the best techniques of all our other courses.
The Wisdom of Conflict -- teaches leaders to prevent and manage conflict. Participants first learn to recognize their inappropriate reactions to their own conflict situations. Second, participants learn to develop appropriate habits to prevent and resolve future conflicts.
The Art of Facilitation, Level I -- teaches leaders to hold highly productive meetings. The course includes decision-making options, roles of participants, strategies and tools for collaborative problem-solving, building consensus, keeping meetings on track, planning for successful meetings, creating safe environments, dealing with difficult behaviors and ensuring follow-through.
The Art of Facilitation, Level II -- focuses on the collaboration of the heart and mind of the facilitator. Level II moves facilitative leaders to a higher level of understanding group dynamics, the facilitation process and ultimately, themselves as balanced facilitators.
Collaborative Problem Solving -- teaches frameworks, strategies and tools for team problem solving using clients’ real problems.
Team Building -- teaches leaders and team members strategies and tools for creating productive teams using team-building exercises and team chartering.
